Shopping for custom bridal gowns is already a high-pressure situation, but it becomes even more intense when a famous reality TV star is sitting on the judging couch!
Bride Rachel Robertson traveled all the way from Phoenix, Arizona to find her dream dress. But she wasn’t just trying to impress herself—she needed the absolute approval of her maid of honor and best friend, her sister Courtney. If Courtney looks familiar, it’s because she was famously labeled as the “villain” on the hit reality dating show, The Bachelor.
“I feel she kind of got a bad rap… it was incredibly hard to watch her be villainized,” Rachel confessed, explaining how sweet her sister truly is. Because Courtney supported her through thick and thin, Rachel refused to say “Yes” without her blessing.
The “Villain” Sister’s Veto
Rachel came into the salon with a “dress to beat”—a stunning Anne Barge gown she had found back home. When she stepped onto the pedestal, she felt beautiful. But the famous reality star wasn’t completely sold.
“It’s just not what I’ve ever pictured you in,” Courtney admitted honestly. “I think the Anne Barge dress is beatable.”
Knowing how much weight Courtney’s opinion held, the consultants scrambled to find alternatives. They tried a glamorous Romona Keveža gown, but Rachel immediately pursed her lips, noting it was “too Hollywood” and the lace wasn’t what she envisioned. Finding off-the-rack wedding dresses or designer gowns that could impress both the bride and her tough-to-please sister was proving to be a massive challenge.
The Emotional Breakdown
Determined to find the perfect match, the consultant pulled a wild card: a stunning Rivini gown featuring unique tiers of delicate lace and a gorgeous beaded belt. It was drastically different from Rachel’s original vision.
The moment Rachel stepped out of the dressing room, the energy in the salon completely shifted. “I feel beautiful in it… it just makes me smile,” Rachel beamed.
But the real test was the entourage.
When Rachel looked at the couch, the “villain” persona melted away entirely. Courtney was sobbing uncontrollably, completely overcome with emotion at how beautiful her sister looked. Even their tough father was wiping away tears! “I think this is the happiest I’ve seen you,” Courtney wept.
Seeing her family react with such pure joy, all doubts vanished. Rachel confidently said “Yes” to the $7,300 Rivini gown. The emotional appointment proved that regardless of how TV producers edit a show, the bond between true sisters is undeniable!
