Shopping for custom bridal gowns is supposed to be a fun, memorable experience. But when you drag your family to five or six different salons with a ticking clock of just four months until the wedding, the experience quickly turns into a nightmare.
Bride Liana arrived at the salon with an incredibly tight deadline. Her venue had a last-minute cancellation, forcing her to rush her wedding timeline. Despite the ticking clock, Liana was impossible to please. She hated everything, calling dresses “tablecloths” and demanding the perfect mix of sparkle and cut-outs. Her sister, Lee, was at her breaking point. “If she doesn’t get a dress today… we’re divorcing her,” Lee warned the consultants. Finding a dress that Liana loved was only half the battle; winning over her opinionated mother was the real challenge. Fashion Director Randy Fenoli and consultant Mindy pulled out all the stops, bringing out a fully beaded, glamorous gown that hugged Liana’s petite frame perfectly. Liana loved it, scoring it a “9 out of 10.”
But her mother wasn’t impressed. “She looks like aluminum foil to me in it,” her mom brutally stated. In the world of bridal fitting appointments, a mother’s disapproval can completely derail a sale. The consultants knew they needed a miracle to change her mind.
The $7,000 Miracle
To secure the blessing, the consultants added a sweeping bridal veil to complete the look. The transformation was magical. The mother, who just minutes ago called the dress “aluminum foil,” broke down in tears. “This is my baby,” she wept, finally giving her highly anticipated approval.
Liana looked stunning, and everyone in the room agreed this was the dress. There was just one catch: the designer gown cost a staggering $7,000, more than double the price of the only other dress Liana had liked at a previous store.
The Empty-Handed Walkout
With the tears flowing and the mom on board, the consultant asked the famous question: “Are you saying yes to the dress?”
Instead of saying yes, Liana dropped a bombshell. “I’ll sleep on it,” she said, terrified of committing to the $7,000 price tag without thinking it over.
The room instantly shifted from joyful tears to pure rage. Her sister, Lee, who had endured months of exhausting shopping trips, completely lost her temper. “You made me wake up before noon to sleep on it?!” Lee screamed. “There’s gonna be a fight going on in the car!” Walking out empty-handed with a wedding only four months away is a massive risk, and it guarantees this family drama is far from over!
